A guilty mind

A guilt mind::

 I Just passed through the lane in which normally food packets are distributed by the Church everyday at 11 am. Noticed a fragile character in lungi sitting across in anticipation.

I thought he had a morning nap and sitting thereafter. Didn't pay much attention as i was getting late for a weekend trip to Nilambur with colleague's.

Went briskly to Chandu lodge and has idly, Vada with strong coffee. Went for a short stoll allowing myself into the warmth of sun rays for a while and returned to my flat.

Again I saw the person still sitting in the same position "with looks of anticipation". I felt extremely uncomfortable by his looks and didn't know what to do.

It all flashed in a moment from the time I went and came back with belly full. Suddenly a gush of guilt came over and i went back to this eerie person and enquired "Bhakshanam Kazhinyo" in my broken Malayalam. He mumbled something and indicated that he is waiting. Hands immediately took a 100 note and placed with him "Kalichu vaa, innu late aavu. Ivide Chandu lodge undallo".

He gracefully took and ran towards Chandu. I could reduce my guilt a bit. It however, reminded me of so many poor fellows who starve on the streets waiting for a meal everyday.

My philosophical mind started enquiry....who is responsible for such a situation...is it the human destiny to suffer due to lack of enterprise, efforts or victory of a lazy mind which couldn't make up for a decent life?? Or a combination of factors societal, psychological, family circumstances which bring upon irreversible sufferings on a daily basis till death???

How.much of is this our responsibility to give a helping hand..lots of thoughts. Yesterday only I saw a Belgaum charity giving food cards to beggars so that none can mis use the cash dolled out by a sympathetic soul. ....

A novel idea which can make things slightly better till they get rehab for a self sufficient life. Not a full solution for human misery which primordially caused due to lack of mastery over mind to prevail on the circumstances leading to such a situation.

Just a morning mumble of the mind which made this decent LIFE possible for me.
